Earl Eugene “Gene” Mills, 69, of Senecaville passed away Monday (July 2, 2012) at his home.
He was born November 7, 1942 in Mt. Vernon and was the son of the late Harvey A. and Jane E. (Rummell) Mills.
Gene retired from AT&T as a computer programmer after 261/2 years of service. He was a member of Eagles Aerie #386 and the American Legion post #0256 in Loveland, and Cambridge V.F.W. #2901. He was a 1961 graduate of Byesville High School and an Army veteran having served from 1961-1964.
He loved spending time with his family and enjoyed fishing.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Karen Lee (Oliver) Mills whom he married November 11, 1962 and passed away November 5, 2010.
Survivors include four daughters, Kitty (Chad Powell) King of Quaker City, Kelly (Scott) Oeder of Morrow, Krista (Tony) Yarbrough of Maineville and Karena (Steve) Sisco of Morrow; ten grandchildren, Matt (Bethany), Kayla, Samantha, Kelsey, Brianna, Kyle, Kaysey, Allie, AJ and Jed; one great granddaughter Hannah and one great grandson Kolten; one brother Gerald O. Mills of Florida; two sisters, Shirley (Charles) Cornett of Buffalo and Sandy (Dan) Brown of Pleasant City; sister-in-law Karla Hall of Byesville; several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Monday July 9th from 5-8 p.m. at Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Byesville where services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday with Steve Sisco officiating.
Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery with military services conducted by the Guernsey County Veterans Council.
