Georgia Maybelle (Reed) Rose

Georgia Maybelle (Reed) Rose, 93, of Byesville went home to be with the Lord Thursday (August 16, 2012) at SEORMC.

She was born February 28, 1919 in Crooksville and was the daughter of the late Harry and Emma (Conrad) Reed.

Georgia was a homemaker, she enjoyed cooking, going to Golden Sixties and spent several years taking care of other family members. With genealogy being an interest of her she was thrilled to travel to Scotland in 1992 with her daughter and daughter-in-law and stayed at the Rose Castle at Kilrock. She also enjoyed working at the Brumley Restaurant in Senecaville with her sister-in-law Doris for many years and loved traveling in the United States with family and especially to Rose family reunions. She also enjoyed working at the election board which she did for many years

She was a member of Senecaville United Methodist Church and a graduated of Valley High School in Buffalo.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Wilford “Woose” Rose whom she married July 14, 1937 and passed away September 21, 1986; also, two brothers, Bill and Clarence Reed.

She is survived by two sons, Gary (Jan) Rose of Byesville and Forest “Butch” (Helen) Rose of Newark; one daughter Ramona Roberts of Amherst; one brother Larry Reed of Massillon; two sisters, Gleneda Powers of Cambridge and Vernadelle Cox of Byesville two sisters-in-law, Betty Reed of Senecaville and Kathryn Reed of Norwich; several nieces and nephews. nine grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren

Calling hours will be Sunday from 4-7 p.m. at Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Senecaville where services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday with Evang. Woody Biggs officiating.

Burial will be in Senecaville Cemetery.

The family requests that memorial donations be made in Georgia’s name to the Golden Sixties, 60330 Southgate Rd., Byesville, Ohio 43723
