William Church Obituary

William David Church Sr., 67, of Byesville passed away Monday (April 9, 2018) at Select Specialty Hospital in Newark.

 

He was born October 10, 1950 in Guernsey County and was the son of the late Harold and Freda (Grindstaff) Church.

 

Mr. Church attended Meadowbrook High School. He was a retired coal miner and was a member of UMWA, Byesville VFW #3760, Eagles Aerie #386, Moose Lodge #632.  Bill enjoyed hunting and boating, spending time with his family and friends, going to vegetable markets and watching westerns.

 

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Jimmy and Arden; a sister Linda; and a very special aunt Mary Grindstaff.

 

He is survived by his wife of twenty four years Christianne (Lovette) Church whom he married January 10, 1994; one son William Jr.; one daughter Rebecca; one step-son Lee; two step-daughters, Brandi and Staci; one brother Gene (Fern) Church; one sister Patricia Loy; numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins; and Munch his dog; close friends who stayed close to Bill through his illness, Sam Bradshaw, Jim Stillion, and Rick Knellinger.

 

Calling hours will be Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Byesville with services to follow at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Mark Slay officiating.  Burial will be in Northwood Cemetery.
