Mary Ann (Foraker) Milton, 93, of Byesville, passed away Thursday (February 29, 2024) at her home.
She was born January 17, 1931 in Byesville, daughter of the late John Foraker and Mary Ellen (Sharrett) Foraker.
A 1948 graduate of Byesville High School and a sorority member of Alpha Pi Sigma for over seventy-five years, Mary Ann retired in 1989 from Champion Spark Plug after thirty-four years of service.
She was a long-time member of the Byesville Main Avenue Methodist Church and was very involved with the Food Pantry along with her family. She enjoyed going on beach trips with her family & friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, L. Dale Milton, whom she married May 15, 1949 and who passed away March 20, 2006. Also deceased are two sons, William “Bill” Milton and infant Phillip Milton; a son-in-law, Jeff Warne; three brothers, James Foraker, Jack Foraker, and David Foraker; and three sisters, Margaret Wilson, Margie Tomak, and Pauline Krava.
Mary Ann is survived by three sons, Dick Milton of Byesville, Jeff (& Shirley) Milton of Byesville, and Matthew (& Sarah) Milton of Byesville; a daughter, Melissa (& Tim) Huhn of Quaker City; five grandchildren, Allyson, Ashley, Shane, Tyler, and Courtney; ten great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; her niece, Betty Rasor; and her close friend, Cheri Evans.
The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Hospice of Guernsey for the extra special care they provided during Mary Ann’s illness.
Visitation will be held Monday (March 4, 2024) from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Byesville, where funeral services will follow at 5 p.m. with Pastor Debbie Gheen officiating.
As an expression of sympathy, the family suggests memorial contributions in Mary Ann’s name to one of the following organizations: 1) Hospice of Guernsey Inc., PO Box 1165, Cambridge OH 43725; 2) Main Avenue Food Pantry, 223 E Main Avenue, Byesville OH 43723; or 3) The Guernsey County Dog Pound, 62824 Bennett Avenue, Cambridge OH 43725.
Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Byesville, at a later date.
