Anthony H. “Tony” Modock, 69, of Byesville passed away Monday (May 21, 2018) at SEORMC.
He was born October 3, 1948 in Munich Germany and was the son of the late Hildegard Modock.
Tony retired from the Mahle Company as a Tool and Die Maker after several years of service. He was a member of Bateshill Church of Christ, Life member of Buffalo VFW post #8040, and a 1966 graduate of Meadowbrook High School where he was a talented basketball player. He later played independent basketball and softball, and coached little league and pony league. He was also an Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years Vickie (Moore) Modock whom he married July 25, 1980; one son John (Tracy) Modock of Fort Bragg, NC; one daughter Amy L. (Mark) Eltringham of Geneva; one brother Nick Modock of Buffalo; one sister Barbara Batal of Senecaville; three grandchildren, Ali and Riley Eltringham and Destiny Hicks; several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Thursday from 2-8 p.m. at Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Byesville where services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday with Evan. Harry Summers officiating. Burial will be in Buffalo Cemetery with military rites conducted by the Guernsey County Veterans Council.
