Austin Fairhurst Obituary

Austin Ronald Fairhurst, 90, of Cambridge passed away Wednesday (November 21, 2018) at the Beckett House.

He was born December 10, 1927 in Trail Run, son of the late Samuel and Anna (Davis) Fairhurst.

Mr. Fairhurst retired from the former ShieldAlloy after 24 years of service.

He was a WWII Navy vet, protestant by faith, 1945 graduate of Community High School and a member of VFW #2901. He enjoyed hunting and fishing

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Geneva Fairhurst whom he married November 8, 1980 and passed away August 26, 2011; three sisters and one brother; one step-son, James Blount; one step-daughter Carol Pittman.

Austin is survived by one daughter, Karen Ann Fairhurst of Columbus; two step-daughters, Karen (Ben) Mosko of Grove City and Linda (Jerry) Carrelli of Cincinnati; seven step-grandchildren; eleven step great grandchildren.

Friends may call Monday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Byesville where services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday with Ben Mosko officiating. Burial will be in Buffalo Cemetery with military services conducted by the Guernsey County Veterans Council.
