Betty S. (Foland) Hughes-Tester, 75, of Byesville passed away Tuesday (April 30, 2019) at the Beckett Nursing Home, surrounded by her family.
She was born January 30, 1944 in Crossville, TN and was the daughter of the late William Earl Foland and Lenice (Fields) Masters.
Betty graduated from Milan High School then moved to Columbus in 1965. She attended Scott Vocational Institute in Columbus for Medical and Clinical Assisting. She was employed at Doctors West Hospital. In 1985 she moved to Byesville and attended Zanesville Adult Education classes and earned her L.P.N. license. She retired in 2002 from Cambridge Developmental Center where she was employed as a nurse. She was a member of Stop Nine Church of Christ. Some of her hobbies included helping others, church activities, traveling, cooking, attending auctions, music, outdoor concerts and the Arts. Betty was very kind and loving and always had a kind word for others.
In addition to her parents Betty was preceded in death by her first husband Douglas Hughes whom she married September 7, 1963 and passed away in 2003; two step-children, Mickey and Randy.
Betty is survived by her husband Ed Tester whom she married March 30, 2014; two children, Nicole (Kevin) Watson of Byesville and Anthony (Carla) Hughes of Harlingen, TX; ten grandchildren, Johnny, Jeremy, Joshua, Kevin, Jeremy , Michael, Teiah (Keanu), Jackson, Charlotte and Dillion; seven great grandchildren, Kali, Coen, Zelia, Adalynn, Ariella, Jamison and Elisha; four step-children, Vickie, Tammy, Colleen and Maureen; two brothers, Bill (Grace) Foland and Jim Masters; three sisters, Belinda (Michael) Renny, Debbie Bennet, Gladys Rollins; several nieces and nephews.
No visitation will be observed. A memorial service will be held a later date.
