Betty May Abrams Obituary

Betty J. May Abrams, 83, of Byesville, died Tuesday (June 12, 2018) at Cambridge Health & Rehabilitation Center.

 

She was born December 17, 1934 in Cadiz, daughter of the late Elmo C. Walter and Mary E. Cecil.

 

Mrs. Abrams had worked at Universal Pottery for many years and she was also a homemaker.

 

She was a member of the Stop Nine Church of Christ.

 

She was a good woman who loved her family and her cats.  She enjoyed wallpapering, painting, planting flowers, and cleaning her house.

 

Mrs. Abrams was a member of the Cambridge Eagles Aerie #386.

 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. May, who died in 1983.  They were married August 17, 1952.  Also deceased are three brothers, Don, Tom, and Ron; and a son, Robert May.

 

She is survived by two sons, Floyd (& Kim) May of Lore City and Don May of Byesville; a daughter, Beth A. Bradshaw (& Yogi Gupta) of Cambridge; two brothers, Dave and Ed; two sisters, Doreen and Rosemary; eight grandchildren, Jason May, Alisha Brenckle, Katrina Parry, Raymond Bradshaw, Eric Petruna, Rob May, Lee May, and Cory May; several great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

 

Visitation will be held Friday (June 15, 2018) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Byesville, where funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. with Evang. Woody Biggs officiating.

 

Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Byesville.
