Carl Eugene Law, 89, Cambridge, passed away Saturday July 27, 2019 at his home surrounded by family.
He was born February 7, 1930 in Salesville, Ohio, a son to the late Ottman Carl and Edna (Foraker) Law.
Carl retired from the Ohio Highway State Patrol, where he was a patrolman for over 30 years, and a graduate of the 40th class in 1953. He was a Graduate of Old Washington High School, and briefly attended Muskingum College, before leaving for the United States Marine Corp, where he served his country in the Korean War. He was a member of the Salesville United Methodist Church, and the Highway Patrol Pistol Team.
Carl enjoyed boat racing, hunting with special friends Ken Szabo and Jim Kensey, shooting trap and skeet, farming, and spending time with family.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by an infant son, Jeffrey.
Surviving Carl, is his wife of 62 years, Irene (Zelenitz) Law, whom he married June 29, 1957, a daughter, Janet (Craig) Rich, Cambridge, a son, James (Jean) Law, Byesville, sister, Jeanette Hall, Salesville, grandchildren, Jennifer (Eric) Dalke, Woodstock, VA, and Jared (Mary) Rich, Salesville, step-grandchildren, Audrey (Matt) O’Donnell, Lakeland, FL, Daniel (Ashley) Flores, Colorado Springs, CO, 6 great-grandchildren, 4 step great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 5:00 – 8:00 pm at Thorn-Black Funeral Home in Quaker City, where services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 am, with Doug Bruner officiating.
Burial will follow in Friends Cemetery in Quaker City, with the Guernsey County Veterans Council providing military honors.
