Carlos M. Easterday, age 90, of Pleasant City, passed away on Friday Oct. 18th @ SEORMC. He was born Sept. 8, 1929 in Coshocton a son to the late Floyd W. and Beulah F. (Fortune) Easterday, in addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a sister Bonnie Donley and a brother Floyd Jr. Carlos was a 1947 graduate of Pleasant City high school, and later served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Carlos worked for 39 years at the former Clevite/Gould company in Caldwell as a tool and die maker. He was a long time member of Stop 9 Church of Christ and the Golden 60’s; he was a very active member of the Purple Heart Chapter #625 along with his wife Donna. Carlos was inducted into several Halls of Fame during his lifetime, including the Ohio Military, Ohio Veterans, Rolling Hills, and Noble County.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Donna (Baker) Easterday whom he married Sept. 8, 1961, two step sons James (Barbara) Scott of Cambridge, and Robert (Linda) Scott of Roff, OK.; Six grandchildren, Wendy (Hank) Morse, Tamera (James) Quaid, Karen (Tim) West, Jesse (Ashley) Scott, Brian (Melissa) Scott, and Barry (Jessica) Scott, 17 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday Oct. 22nd from 11:00-1:00 at the Stop 9 Church of Christ in Byesville with funeral services to follow at 1:00pm with Evan. Woody Biggs to officiate. Burial to follow at Pleasant City cemetery with military honors provided by the Guernsey County Veterans Council.
