Cheryl Jean (Moore) Clarkston

Cheryl Jean (Moore) Clarkston, 73, of Byesville, passed away Thursday (January 16, 2020) at her home.

She was born December 1, 1946 in Cambridge and was the daughter of the late Roy and Glenna (Wood) Moore.

Cheryl was a 1964 graduate of Shenandoah H.S., and attended one year at Cambridge Beauty College.  She was formerly a home health aide, and worked at several local factories.  Cheryl was an avid reader, enjoyed working puzzles, and traveling.  She was a very quiet person who dedicated her life to her family, and enjoyed spending time with them.

In addition to her parents Cheryl was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Gomar Clarkston, whom she married November 24, 1967 in Pearisburg, VA and passed away July 16, 2019; one granddaughter Taylor Clarkston; infant sister Carol, and one brother Brent.

She is survived by one son Chris (Erin) Clarkston of Byesville; one daughter Lisa (Chris) Peters of Byesville; three grandchildren, Ethan, Cameron and Shelby; one brother Jerld (Rene) Moore of Norwich; one sister Tracy Lynn (James) Petry of Cumberland.

Calling hours will be Monday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Byesville where services will follow at 12:00 p.m. with Evangelist Mark Beros officiating.  Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
