Dana E. Haynes, 79, of Byesville passed away Tuesday (September 3, 2019) at Genesis Healthcare.
He was born November 16, 1939 in Senecaville and was the son of the late William and Golda (Jenkins) Haynes.
Dana retired from the Village of Byesville as Utilities Superintendent after 33 years of service. After retirement Dana worked for Black-Epperson Funeral Home for sixteen years.
Dana enjoyed golfing, and vacationing each year in Gatlinburg with his family. He was an avid Meadowbrook Colt, Ohio State and Bengals fan. He was an Air Force Veteran.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son Jeff, sister Helen Meighen, and brother Johnny.
He is survived by his wife of fifty nine years Judy (Hogan) Haynes whom he married July 2, 1960; three daughters, Lori (Rick) Adams of Byesville, Stephanie (Brian) Diss of Byesville and Melissa (Rob) Long of Newark; ten grandchildren, Amanda (Daniel), Amber (Jeremy), Matt (Robin), Kayla (Aaron), Brittany, Brianna (Kody), Sophia, Stella, Claire and Cooper; great grandchildren, Madison, Brooklynn, Hannah, Carly, Sydney, Willow, Beckett, and expected great granddaughter Wendy; one brother Bill (Betty) Haynes of Byesville; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Byesville where services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Guernsey County Veterans Council.
