Eileen (Ritterbeck) Reed

Eileen (Ritterbeck) Reed, 74, of Byesville passed away Tuesday (May 21, 2019) at Genesis Healthcare.

She was born November 2, 1944 in Muskingum County and was the daughter of the late Roy and Edna (Carpenter) Ritterbeck.

Eileen was a graduate of New Concord High School, Methodist by faith, and had been a Home Health Care provider for Interim.  She was an avid movie enthusiast, loved spending time with her family, especially her grandson Chase, planting flowers and gardening…just being outdoors.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her daughter Deborah McGeary; three brothers, Regis Roy Ritterbeck, Roger Lee Ritterbeck Sr.,  and Buddy Joe Ritterbeck; two sisters, Donna Jean Bates and Judy Barnett.

She is survived by one son Charles Reed Jr. of Columbus; one daughter Diana Reed of Powell; two sisters, Emma Jean Brown of Florida and Elaine (George) Smithberger of Summerfield; one grandson Chase McGeary of Pleasant City; several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Byesville where services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday.  Burial will follow in Summerfield Cemetery.
