George D. “Dave” Garan, 63, of Cumberland passed away (Saturday )October 19, 2019) at his home.
He was born May 13, 1956 in Zanesville and was the son of the late George and Ruth (Saribok) Garan.
Dave was an oil field driller for the past 20 plus years. He was a 1974 graduate of Meadowbrook High School. He enjoyed farming, hunting, fishing, watching old westerns and the history channel. He also enjoyed playing Sudoku puzzles.
He is survived by one son John (Jamie) Garan of Portsmouth, VA; three daughters, Jennifer (Dan) Matteson of Lockbourne, Traci (Mike) Strawser of Florissant, MO, and Colleen Garan, St. Charles, MO.; two sisters, Susan (Andy) Dzurovick, and Christine (Melvin) Miller of Cumberland; six grandchildren, Collin, Astaria, Billy, James, Evan, and Kayla; very special friend Dee Williams of Byesville.
Calling hours will be Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Byesville. Services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Holy Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church.
