Gomar Franklin Clarkston, 75, of Byesville, passed away Tuesday (July 16, 2019) at the home of his son.
He was born June 30, 1944 in Springfield and was the son of the late Ophard and Viola (Meadows) Clarkston.
Gomar formerly worked at NCR, and he later retired from Artex in Marietta as a Landman in the oil and gas industry. He was 1962 graduate of Cambridge High School. Gomar enjoyed his families many trips to Myrtle Beach and Disney World, genealogy, baseball, especially the Cleveland Indians. He was a great supporter of MHS and enjoyed attending events for his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents Gomar was preceded in death by his granddaughter Taylor Clarkston; three sisters, Martha, Chrissie and Jean; one brother Abner.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years Cheryl (Moore) Clarkston whom he married in November of 1967; two sons, Chris Clarkston of Byesville and Frank Clarkston of Missouri; three daughters, Lisa (Chris) Peters of Byesville, Rebecca Garnett of Missouri and Pamela Keeney of Arizona; one brother Alben Clarkston of Texas; one sister Glennara Dickey of Cambridge; three grandchildren, Ethan, Cameron and Shelby; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Byesville where services will follow at 12:00 p.m. with Evangelist Woody Biggs officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
