Jerry Kackley, 57, of Pleasant City passed away Tuesday (September 3, 2019) at his home.
He was born February 16, 1962 in Cambridge and was the son of the late Ross J. and Sara F. (Berkhouse) Kackley.
Jerry retired from Guernsey Muskingum Electric in June 2019 as General Manager/CEO after 26 years of service. Jerry graduated from The Ohio State University in 1984 Summa Cum Laude, with a degree in Accounting. He began his working career at Columbia Gas and Marathon Petroleum, after eight years Jerry moved on to Guernsey Muskingum Electric and soon received a promotion to controller, he later ascended to the position of general manager where he stayed until his retirement. He was a member of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, and graduated in 1980 from Meadowbrook High School as Valedictorian of his class.
Jerry is survived by his wife of thirty two years Deborah (Shriver) Kackley whom he married February 14, 1987; two daughters, Jessica (Taylor) Tom of Pleasant City and Andrea Kackley (John Kirby) of Nashport; four brothers, David (Linda) Kackley of Lore City, Duane (Carrie) Kackley of Byesville, Robert (Gaye) Kackley of Byesville, and Gary (Lisa) Kackley of Byesville; two sisters, Diane (Tommy) Wilder of Middleburg, FL, and Donna (Sherry Altizer) Smith of Granville; Mother and Father in law, Martha and Dean Shriver of Pleasant City; sister in law Kate (Brian) Johnson of Summerfield; brother in law Wayne (Krista) Shriver of Pleasant City; several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Friday from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Byesville with a private graveside service Saturday morning at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Mt. Zion Lutheran Church.
