Jerry M. Tolliver, 70, of Byesville passed away Tuesday (April 24, 2018) at Genesis Healthcare.
He was born March 12, 1948 in Guernsey County and was the son of the late Melvin Alonzo and Betty (Davis) Tolliver.
Jerry retired from the Village of Byesville after 28 years of service. He was formerly employed at Watson’s BP and Hamilton Beach. He was a volunteer firefighter for the Byesville Volunteer Fire Dept. for 40 years, and loved working on anything with a motor. He attended Meadowbrook High School.
In addition to his parents Jerry was preceded in death by a sister Judith Tolliver and a brother-in-law Tim Adams.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years Alberta L. (Adams) Tolliver whom he married June 16, 1973; four sons, Dale Tolliver of Byesville, Brad (Tricia) Tolliver of Kimbolton, Chad (Diana) Tolliver of Senecaville and Kenneth (Chelsea) Tolliver of Zanesville; eight grandchildren, Kristi, Anthony, Ashley, Courtney, Kennedy, Evan, Benjamin and Andrew; four great grandchildren; and his dog Abby.
Calling hours will be Friday from 5-8 p.m. at Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Byesville where services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday with Pastor Nancy Parsons officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
