Joseph Delik Sr., 88, of Pleasant City passed away Sunday (August 5, 2018) at SEORMC.
He was born June 26, 1930 in Kipling and was the son of the late Michael and Mary (Vallo) Delik.
Joe retired from Central Ohio Coal Company after 26 years of service. He had previously worked at Phillips Plastics and Harper & Hutchison in Cambridge. He was Catholic by faith, and a veteran of U.S. Navy. Joe was a member of Byesville VFW #3760, former military honors guard, and was a Cleveland Indians and Ohio State fan.
In addition to his parents Joe was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years Lynn A. (Albright) Delik whom he married April 28, 1951; three brothers, John, Mike and Paul; three sisters, Ann Delik, Mary Delik and Sue Bresnok; son-in-law Skip Traxler.
He is survived by one son, Joe (Shelly) Delik Jr. of Pleasant City; three daughters, Mary Jo (Jerry) Warner of Byesville, Pam Traxler of Cambridge, and Lisa (John) Mallett of Senecaville; seven grandchildren, Fred “Buddy” Ginn, Brett (April) Ginn, Amanda Dusz, Brandy (Chris) McCall, Nicole (Nelson) Rivera, Jan (Jeanne) Mazgay, and Kayla (Dan) Schafer; nineteen great grandchildren, Luke and Lily Ginn, Kaitlyn Hoffman, Anell and Alena Hollins, Kaylie Oldson, Johnathan and Johna McCall, Cole Kaczoroski, Daylin and Nilsa Rivera, Grady and Beau Mazgay, Jacob, Jackson and Lynnie Schafer, Tralynn, Ashton and C.J. McCall; one great great grandson Brandon Sizemore; and his dog Lucy.
No calling hours or services will be observed.
Burial will be in Pleasant City Cemetery at a later date.
