Kenneth D. McConahay, 93, of Byesville passed away Thursday (November 1, 2018) at Country View Assisted Living.
He was born November 13, 1924 in Byesville and was the son of the late Paul McConahay and Helen (Schaffer) McConahay- McGuire.
He retired from Ekco Housewares, as a polisher, after 15 years of service. He was former owner/operator of 5 Points Café in Canton. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII, and received an honorable discharge after the war. He was a life member of Byesville VFW #3760, attended Calvary Baptist Church, and enjoyed spending time at Marlene’s.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sons, Glen and Kenneth Leon McConahay; one sister Wanda Souza.
He is survived by four sons, Gary McConahay of West Virginia, Kenneth D. Jr., Don and Timothy McConahay all of Cambridge; four daughters, Joyce Marlatt of Byesville, Kenna and Janie McConahay of PA, and Kandie McConahay of Zanesville; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Calling hours will be Sunday from 6-8 p.m. at Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Byesville where services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday with Pastor David Glass
officiating. Burial will be in Guernsey Memory Gardens with military services conducted by the Guernsey County Veterans Council.
