Margaret (Yacko) Smithberger, 93, of Buffalo passed away Saturday (March 31, 2018) at Astoria Place.
She was born June 10, 1924 in Buffalo and was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Zupko) Yacko.
Margaret was a 1942 graduate of Buffalo High School, and a member of St. Michael’s Byzantine Catholic Church. She was formerly employed at March Electric, offices of Dr. Knautik and Dr. Larrick and was a “Rosie the Riveter” in Akron during WWII.
In addition to her parents Margaret was preceded in death by her husband William Smithberger whom she married June19, 1948 and passed away January 27, 1985; two brothers, Nick and John Yacko.
She is survived by two sons, Mitch (Connie) Smithberger of Senecaville and William (Cheryl) Smithberger of Berea, KY; four grandchildren, Lorrie (John) Waers, Jon (Tish) Smithberger, Adam (Shana) Smithberger and Mark Smithberger; six great grandchildren, Logan, Denali, Nora, Jake, Leland and Waylon.
Private services were held Tuesday (April 3, 2018) at 11:00 a.m. at Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Byesville with Fr. Robert Borer officiating. Burial was in Buffalo Cemetery.
