Nick Robert Mnich, 87, of Pleasant City, passed away Wednesday (July 17, 2019) at the Cambridge Place.
He was born at home on December 3, 1931 in Pleasant City, Fairview Addition and was the son of the late Peter and Anna (Manovsky) Mnich.
Mr. Mnich retired from the U.S. Army after 22 years of service. He was a member of St. Michael’s Byzantine Catholic Church, and he loved and appreciated the Ladies Guild, and was a graduate of Pleasant City High School. Nick enjoyed trapping beaver and muskrat, fishing in Key West, gardening and golfing. Nick was a natural athlete and was scouted by the San Fransisco Giants while in High School.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, John, George and Pete; three sisters, Anna Smik, Mary Matias, and Irene Ontko.
He is survived by one sister Betty Merva of Denver, Colorado; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Monday (July 22nd) from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Byesville where services will follow at 12:00 with Reverend Fr. Ed Gretchko. Burial will follow in St. Michael’s Byzantine Catholic Church Cemetery.
