Pamela R. “Pam” (Gaton) Newnom, 57, of Byesville passed away Sunday (October 21, 2018) at her home after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born March 2, 1961 in Cambridge and was the daughter of the late Edward and Patricia (Kovalchik) Voytko.

Pam formerly worked at Muskingum College in the dining hall The Bait Shop for many years. She was a 1979 graduate of Meadowbrook High School. She loved going to the ocean and spending time on the beach, going to Wheeling Downs, her cats, her dog, Broozer and taking care of her home.

She is survived by her husband Robert “Bob” Newnom whom she married February 27, 1985; one daughter Amanda ((Brad) Riggle of Cambridge; one granddaughter Ava Brenae Riggle; one brother Tom (Sue) Gaton of Cambridge; special friends, Ron (Cheryl) Carr of Senecaville.
