Robert Merle Geese, 86, of Byesville passed away Sunday (April 15, 2018) at SEORMC.
He was born February 21, 1932 in Cambridge and was the son of the late Ivan and Pauline (Ryan) Geese.
Mr. Geese retired from N.C. R. in 1997 after 32 years of service as a quality control technician. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War, and took the Honor Flight to Washington D.C. in 2017. Amateur Hamm radio operator under the sign K8IOX. He was an avid reader of John Grisham novels, and enjoyed watching game shows. He was also an avid supporter of music and sports for his grandchildren at Meadowbrook and Barnesville High Schools.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son Robert “Bob” Geese who passed away in 2002.
He is survived by his wife of sixty four years Vivian L. (Butler) Geese whom he married January 29, 1954; one daughter Karen S. (Jim) Brown of Bethesda; daughter-in-law Tammy Geese of Byesville; five grandchildren, Shanda (Max) Malone of Byesville, Ashlee (Shawn) Flanagan of Cambridge, Ryan (Ashley) Brown of Bethesda, Kayla (Ryan) Milburn of Barnesville, and Baylee Geese of Byesvile; four great grandchildren, Callie, Blake and Colby Brown of Bethesda, and Hudson Milburn of Barnesville; special group of friends at Burger King; two nieces and two nephews.
Calling hours will be Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. at Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Byesville where services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday with Pastor Kirk Gable officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery with military rites conducted by the Guernsey County Veterans Council.
