Betty "Joann" Moore Obituary

Betty “Joann” Moore, 89, was called home to be with the Lord Saturday, May 27, 2023. Born October 26, 1933 to Bede J. and Mildred (Tilton) Lori, she grew up and lived in Pleasant City most of her life before moving to Cambridge, where she lived the last of her days.

She graduated from Pleasant City High School, and retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 2000 after 33 years of service. She was a post office clerk for 22 years and Lore City postmaster for 11 years.

She was a member of Christ’s Lutheran Church.

She married the late Hubert “Jerk” Moore on September 8, 1955, and they had two children, Randy and Susan. Jerk passed away July 3, 1978.

She loved her family, especially her grandkids and great-grandkids, playing bridge, shopping, going out to eat, and family get-togethers. Her great-grandbabies affectionately called her by the name she wanted, “Old Grammy,” and she spoiled them with presents and treats from Kennedy’s all the time.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Norma Jean Vestrand; her brother, Richard Lori; and her niece, Pat Rogers.

She is survived by her son, Randy (Melanie) Moore and their kids; Lee Ann (Zach, Miles & Claire) Roberts and Lisa (Tyler, Parker & Owen) Farrar; her daughter, Susan Minyo, and her sons, Steve and Joey (Mylena) Minyo; a nephew, Dennis (Pat) Rogers and great nieces, Kelli, Colleen, and Erin.

Burial will be at Mt. Zion Cemetery, Pleasant City, at a later date.
