Brent Warden Obituary

Brent Anthony Warden, 38, of Salesville, passed away Saturday (May 20, 2023) at his home as the result of an accident.

He was born September 14, 1984 in Cambridge, son of David “Tony” Warden and Theda (Guiler) Warden.

A 2003 graduate of Buckeye Trail High School and the Mid-East Ohio electrical program, Brent worked for twelve years at Cambridge Packaging as a maintenance supervisor.  He was a journeyman electrician and was a member of IBEW # 1105 in Newark.

Brent loved cooking for his family, shooting BB guns with Oaken, riding the four-wheeler with Colten, and convincing Melissa he had found “the best deal ever.”

Where there was smoke, there was food at Brent’s TV Repair-Barbeque-Butchery!  He thoroughly loved making delicious smoked meats.  He was proud to know he had raised the pigs.  He thought he and Melissa should open their own roadside stand where he smoked meat and Melissa made pies.  If there was anything that needed fixed, if it had a motor, or needed hours of researching YouTube videos, he could fix it.  The garage had more TVs than a sports bar.  From the time he was 8, he was on a tractor. Spending time with his Grandpa Lester and Uncle James pushing dirt and driving heavy equipment and tractor shopping with Ken were some of his fondest memories.  He enjoyed old things and old ways.  From Farmall tractors to his homemade woodsplitter to “Oh, Melissa, I need eight more tons of coal” - passionate would be an understatement about his hobbies.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Lester and Geneva Guiler; his paternal grandfather, George Warden; and two uncles, James Brent Guiler and David Guiler.

He is survived by his wife, Melissa (Larrick) Warden, whom he married September 13, 2008; his parents, David “Tony” and Theda Warden of Cambridge; two sons, Oaken Anthony Warden and Colten James Warden; a sister, Jenna Warden of Charlotte NC; his grandmother, Janet Warden; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Curtis and Michelle Larrick; his brother-in-law, Dillon (Liz) Larrick; his niece and nephew, Riley and Jaxon; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; and numerous friends.

No calling hours will be observed.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday (May 24, 2023) at 1:00 p.m. at Senecaville Cemetery, with Pastor Jeff Eschbaugh officiating.
