Carol Sue (Shaneyfelt) Humphrey

Carol Sue (Shaneyfelt) Humphrey, 86, of Byesville, died Sunday (June 19, 2022) at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus.

She was born December 20, 1935 in New Carlisle, daughter of the late Robert Shaneyfelt and Susan (Sherman) Shaneyfelt.

Carol retired in 1995 from the former March Electric after thirty-one years of services.

She was a 1953 graduate of Cambridge High School and a member of the First Christian Church of Cambridge.  She was also a member of the Cambridge Eagles Aerie 386 Auxiliary and the Cambridge VFW Post 2901 Auxiliary.

Carol was an avid Meadowbrook Colts fan and attended all the games, whether at home or away!  She also enjoyed traveling and reading.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bob” Humphrey, who died April 28, 2007.  They were married August 19, 1955.  Also deceased are two sisters, Evelyn Shaneyfelt and Sylvia Wheatley.

She is survived by two sons, Robert “Buck” Humphrey of Las Vegas NV and Donald (Beth) Humphrey of Lakewood WA; a daughter, Denise Bott (Rick Wells) of Byesville; a sister, Dodie (Don) McGowan of Florida; six grandchildren, Kristina Humphrey (Kyle), Jessica Humphrey (Jason), Brittany (Colin) Pruitt, Darrin Humphrey (Marika), Billy Bott, and Robbie Bott; her great-grandchildren, Gabbie, Logan, Kadie, Brookie, Autumn, Margot, and Lucy; her longtime friend and fellow Colts enthusiast, Deb Charleston of Byesville; and several nieces & nephews.

Visitation will be held Thursday (June 23, 2022) from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and also from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Byesville, where funeral services will be held Friday (June 24, 2022) at 11 a.m. with Pastor Randy Mercer officiating.

Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Byesville.
