Carol Lenarz

Carol Ann (Hastings) Lenarz, 79, formerly of Old Washington, Ohio, passed away February 23, 2022, at Wheeling Hospital, Wheeling, WV.

Carol was born August 12, 1942, in Athol, Massachusetts, a daughter of the late George E. Hastings, Sr. and Gladys M. (Barney) Hastings.

Carol was a Methodist by Faith and spent many years on the road with her husband trucking and traveling the country. Carol was a kind, caring, and loving woman; she enjoyed planting flowers and gardening and was a lifelong homemaker. Carol could be found with a book in her hands, a cup of tea by her side, and the best snacks for her grandchildren.  Most of all, Carol enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. 

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Dale “Sonny” Lenarz, whom she married on July 22, 1967, and passed away March 20, 2004. She is also preceded in death by her brothers George E. Hastings, Jr., and Barry Hastings.

Carol is survived by her sons, Daniel D. (Ruth) Lenarz of Green Springs; Steven A. (Michelle) Lenarz of Pleasant City;  daughter, Marcia Lenarz-Gray of Pittsburgh; her sister, Kay (Nicolas) Ernst of Kissimmee, Florida; five grandchildren, Janessa, Caleb, Brett, Katlyn and Ethan; and many nieces and nephews.

No calling hours will be observed with the family holding private services. Pastor Bob Hollins will officiate, burial will follow at Old Washington Cemetery in Old Washington, Ohio
