David Lee Ball, age 64, of Byesville, Ohio died on November 3, 2023 at his home.
He was born on October 13, 1959 in Cambridge, Ohio, son of the late Leon Ball and Sally Tulip Thomas. He was also preceded in death by grandparents Raymond and Mary Ball, and John and Peg Tulip.
Dave was a 1978 graduate of Meadowbrook High School.
Dave spent much of his life working on a rig and drilling for oil. He started his career with Mid Atlantic Drilling Co. He later worked for the Ohio Department of Natural Resources inspecting production and injection wells. Dave enjoyed gardening and canning his produce, NASCAR (especially Dale Earnhardt), and his dogs.
Dave is survived by his wife, Theda Masters Ball whom he married on August 3, 1985; his daughter, Amber (Eric) Sholtis; his grandsons, Cash, Rhett, Ridge, and Colt; his brother, Chuck (Rose) Ball; aunt and uncle, Larry (Teddy) Ball; niece, Amy (Wes) Hurley; special cousin, Diana (Chris) Hall; his mother-in-law, Shirley Masters; sister-in-law, Brenda Barnett; as well countless other family and friends. He was a loving husband, father, and his grandsons were the light of his life. He also leaves his fur babies, Max, Gus and Winston, and is now walking Kobe and Oscar in Heaven.
Visitation will be held Monday (November 6, 2023) from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Byesville, where funeral services will begin at 7 p.m. with Pastor Georgette Gaston officiating.
