David L. Larson, 82, passed away peacefully at his home in Pleasant City on Sunday (January 22, 2023).
He was born July 10, 1940 in Zanesville, son of the late Tom Larson and Wanda (Bates) Lemanski.
David was loving husband who married the love of his life, Dorothy Isom, on January 16, 1965. Together they had five children, seventeen grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
He served in the US Navy. After his military service, he started a trucking company in 1972 - Larson Materials - which grew from his love of trucks and semis. Seven years later, he moved to Pleasant City and purchased the family farm in 1979.
David loved his farm and gardening. He also enjoyed fishing and working hard. He found humor in everything.
He was preceded in death by his father, Tom Larson; his mother & stepfather, Wanda and Vince Lemanski; a sister, Nancy Isom; a stepsister, Sherri Larson; and a stepbrother, Mark Larson.
David is survived by his loving wife of fifty-eight years, Dorothy Larson; five children, Denice (Jim) Smith of Pleasant City, David (Bridget) Larson Jr. of North Carolina, Daniel (Jamie) Larson of Cambridge, Dwayne (Christine Kinney) Larson of Powhatan Point, and Dustin (Roberta Krise) Larson of Byesville; seventeen grandchildren, Kaci, Paige, Zachary, Hunter, Kenzie, Tanner, Taylor, Gabby, Ashlee, Kolton, Hannah, David, Richard, Seth, Bobby, Lindsay, and Jacob; nine great-grandchildren, October, Addy, Madison, Ryleigh, Greyson, Richard, Ryan, Jaxton, and Arizona; and several nieces & nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday (January 26, 2023) from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Byesville, where funeral services will be held on Friday (January 27, 2023) at 11 a.m. with Pastor Brian Hollis officiating.
Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Byesville.
