Donald Ray “Jake” Haught, 93, of Pleasant City, passed away Saturday (May 13, 2023) at Summit Acres Nursing Home, Caldwell.
He was born May 3, 1930 in Jacobsburg, son of the late Charley Haught and Mary (Coleman) Haught.
Jake had served as a Valley Township trustee for many years. He was also a bricklayer and carpenter. Jake owned and operated the Crossroads Tavern for many years.
He loved hanging out with his friends at the Subway in Buffalo.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carole (Williams) Haught, whom he married July 25, 1953 and who died January 30, 1982; a daughter, Lori; two sisters, Mary Haught and Helen Warehime; three brothers, Charles “Chuck” Haught, James Haught, and Dale “Zeke” Haught; a sister-in-law, Rae Haught; a brother-in-law, John Williams; and a great-grandson, Rylan Perez.
Jake is survived by his daughters, Sandy (Craig) Kackley, JoEllen (Ty) Sichina, Deena (Rod) Schlosser, and Bobbi (Mike) Warren; a sister, Doris Williams; a sister-in-law, Sonia; eight grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews.
Visitation will be held Wednesday (May 17, 2023) from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Byesville, where funeral services will be held Thursday (May 18, 2023) at 11 a.m. with Ty Sichina officiating.
Burial will be at Pleasant City Cemetery.
