Dorothy Adamik Obituary

Dorothy Goldberg Adamik, 85, of Byesville, passed away Sunday (November 5, 2023) from COVID-19.

She was born September 5, 1938 in Columbus.  She was the daughter of Abe and Theadosha (Fitzer) Goldberg and was a graduate of Marion Franklin High School.  Dorothy worked for the State of Ohio, Linden Sports, and served on the Rolling Hills School Board for twelve years.  Most of her years were spent being a homemaker raising five children.  She was a member of the Holy Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Pleasant City.

For many years, Dorothy was a Meadowbrook Booster member for sports and the band and was an organizer for the concession stands at the football games.  She was involved with many school activities from the time her children started school until each of their graduations.  She was very proud to be a part of the group of parents who helped make the field house a reality.  She was also on the board when the new high school was built.

Dorothy enjoyed going to all the events that not only involved her children, but also her grandchildren.  She hosted all the family holidays all the years she could.  Her favorite holiday was Christmas - the house was crowded with family, presents, and love.  Her family was very important to her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Joseph Richard Adamik Sr., who passed away in August of 2021.  They were married February 6, 1966.  Also deceased are her siblings, Harris, George, Luella, and Jean; her grandson, Joseph Richard Adamik III; and her special nieces, Tracy Goldberg and Madison Eubanks.

Dorothy is survived by four sons, Joey (Lisa) Adamik Jr., Max Adamik, Michael Adamik, and Matthew Adamik; a daughter, Cheryl (Tim) Coulter; and Lisa (Conrad) Neuhart who was like a daughter to her; special nieces, Terrie Goldberg and Nicole Strong, along with several nieces & nephews; her grandchildren, Kelli (Michael) Haney, Zac (Jennifer) Coulter, Ben (Samantha) Jerles, Emily Jerles, and Evan (Hannah) Adamik; and her great-grandchildren, Grant & Greyson Haney, Buck Coulter, Ava & Sophia Warner, Belle, Briar, and Olive Jerles, and Parker.
