Eugene "Tuck" Netting Obituary

Eugene "Tuck" Netting, 94, of Byesville went to be home with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday (November 18, 2022) at Genesis Morrison House, Zanesville.

He was born December 14, 1927 in Cambridge and was the son of the late Roy and Alice Poulget Netting of Cambridge.

Tuck worked at the former Cambridge Dairy and retired from Superior Dairy. He was a member of Main Ave. United Methodist Church in Byesville and a 1945 graduate of Cambridge High School. After graduating high school, he proudly served in the United States Navy. Tuck was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend. Faith and family were the most important things in his life. Tuck taught himself French in honor of his mother’s heritage. Tuck had an amazing work ethic. He enjoyed playing cards with family, enjoyed playing competitive horseshoes, and loved to travel.

Preceding him in death along with his parents were his siblings, Clifford Netting and Bertha (Netting) Warehime. He was also preceded in death by his sons, Leroy "Butch" Netting and Eugene C. “Gene” Netting.

He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Marian (Beebe) Netting, whom he married December 8, 1949 ; his grandchildren,  Roy (Michelle) Netting of Byesville, Ryan (Mary) Netting of Old Washington, Rudy Netting of Byesville, Robert (Sarah) Netting of Pittsburgh, Rachel (Robert) Boring of Pittsburgh, Elijah (Tammy) Netting of Pittsburgh; his great-grandchildren, Austin, Joli, Addie, Ethan, Elliott, Robert, Cayden, Kayla, Alexander, Catherine and Cooper; and his great-great-grandchildren, Ryleigh and Noah. He also leaves behind two daughters-in-law, Sue and Bonnie.

Calling hours will be Tuesday (November 22, 2022) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Main Ave. United Methodist Church in Byesville, where services will follow at 1 p.m. with Pastors Debbie Gheen and David Wylie officiating. 

Burial will be at Northwood Cemetery, Cambridge.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Tuck’s name to one of the following organizations: 1) House of Prayer Fellowship Building Fund, 207 North 3rd Street, Byesville OH 43723; or 2) Main Avenue UMC Disaffiliation Fund, PO Box 152, Byesville OH 43723.
