Fred Starrett Obituary

Fred Starrett age 82 of Byesville, passed away on July 31, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family.  He was born on  January 5, 1939 in Zanesville, a son to the late Earl F. Starrett and Kathryn (Dobbs) Jones.

Fred was a 1957 graduate of Old Washington high school, following graduation he served 3 years with the United States Marine Corps, he began his working career in 1962 with Central Ohio Coal, and retired in 2000 after 38 years of service. Fred was a member of the Byesville VFW Post #3760, and served as treasurer for UMW Local #1604, he enjoyed reading, rooting for the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Fred and his wife Sandy would frequently travel to visit family in Florida, Texas, and Louisiana.

Survivors include his wife Sandy (Valentine) Starrett whom he married on March 13, 1993, three daughters, Tracey (Corey) Clayson of Louisiana, Sue (Dan) Daughtery of Cambridge, and Angie (Ted) Smith of Texas, two step children Steve Fenwick of Byesville, and Shelly Neff (Rick Bradford) of Quaker City, two brothers Robin (Judy) Starrett of Florida, and Johnny Jones of Cambridge, eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and special friends George and Lori Tolbert.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday Aug 4, 2021 from 1:00 to 4:30 at Black Epperson funeral home in Byesville with funeral services to follow.
