George “Jay” Buffington, 81, of Senecaville, passed away Sunday (November 15, 2020) at SEORMC.
He was born January 25, 1939 in Martins Ferry and was the son of the late George and Maude (Cook) Buffington.
Jay retired from Byesville Aseptics after several years of service. He loved golfing, boating, smoking cigars with friends, and going south for the winter. He was a U.S. Navy veteran.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters, Joan and Lois.
Jay is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Marilyn S. (Guiler) Buffington whom he married July 2, 1979; three sons, James Buffington of California, James (Diana) McManaway and Kevin McManaway , both of Salesville; one daughter Shonna Scheuringer of Jacksonville, NC; six grandchildren, Katie, Dominick, Ann Marie, Allison, Shawn and Megan; two great grandchildren, Emma and Alyssa; his golfing and lake buddies, Eddie, George, Donnie, Bradley, Adam, Dan, Dick and Jim.
No calling hours will be held.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
