Gordon Philip “Phil” Ridd, 62, of Cambridge, passed away unexpectedly Monday (October 18, 2021) at SEORMC.
He was born October 30, 1958 in Cleveland, son of the late Gordon P. and Evelyn (Hoth) Ridd.
Phil was employed with Detroit Diesel for 21 years. He was a member of Stop 9 Church of Christ, a 1976 graduate of Euclid Heights H.S., and a U.S. Coast Guard veteran. He and his wife were heavily involved with the Christmas day dinner at Stop 9 Church of Christ, where Phil was always the first to arrive and last to leave. He was a Cleveland and OSU sports fan. He enjoyed building lego’s and model cars. He enjoyed cooking and was well known for his chili and baked beans.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Diann (Cooper) Ridd whom he married October 8, 1983; his children, son Casey and daughter Taylor both of the home; his cat Homer; in-laws, Linda & Lou Ropog of North Olmstead; one niece Carol and one nephew Jimmy; great niece Christine.
Visitation will be Friday from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Byesville where services will follow at 3:00 with Evangelist Woody Biggs officiating.
