James Alfred Callihan, 89, of Byesville passed away Monday (March 23, 2020) at his home.
He was born June 4, 1930 in Byesville and was the son of the late Guy and Zelma (Lafollette) Callihan.
Jim attended Byesville Elementary and Cambridge High School. He was a retired truck driver. After retirement, Jim worked part time at Black-Epperson Funeral Home for several years and Cambridge Commercial Cleaning with his wife Elaine. Jim was a member of House of Prayer Fellowship where he was active in the music program. He was a member of the Original Versatones Band, and also played guitar with the “Get Along Gang” for many years. He enjoyed gospel music, and woodworking.
In addition to his parents Jim was preceded in death by a stillborn son Danny Lee; a daughter Sherry Sickles; two sisters, Margaret Geist and Dorothy Gay; two brothers, Don and Robert Callihan.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years Elaine (Harbin) Callihan whom he married September 1, 1974 in Phoenix, AZ; one son Jim (Jamie) Callihan of Cambridge; three daughters, Karen (Bob) Edwards of Cambridge, Becky Callihan of Cambridge and Sandra (Ron) Rankin of Byesville; one sister Lula Dyer of Cambridge; eleven grandchildren, and several great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday at Greenwood Cemetery with Pastor Dave Wylie officiating.
