James William Richard Hines, 21, of Pleasant City, died Tuesday (May 24, 2022) at his home.
He was born August 9, 2000 in Cambridge, son of Dylan Hines and Debbie (Huffman) Valentine.
A 2019 graduate of Meadowbrook High School, James was currently working at Wal-Mart of Cambridge.
He was an avid gamer and enjoyed hanging out with his friends. He liked going to numerous concerts of his favorite band, Trivium. He enjoyed the outdoors – shooting guns and going fishing with his dad & brother were favorite pastimes of his.
He was preceded in death by his paternal great-grandfathers, James Hines and Richard Merryman; his paternal great-grandmothers, Hazel Hines and Ann Merryman; his maternal grandfather, Timothy R. Huffman; his maternal great-grandmother, Alice Huffman; his maternal great-grandfather, Glen Huffman; an uncle, Timothy R. “Pete” Huffman Jr.; a cousin, Shawn G. Huffman; and his best friend, Daulton Lowry.
James is survived by his father, Dylan Hines of Byesville; his mother and stepfather, Debbie and Bert Valentine of Pleasant City; his grandparents, William and Barbara Hines; his brother, Trae (Shaila) Hines; his sister, Aryanna (Brayley) Hines; two nephews, Leonidas Clodfelter and Ares Fannin; two nieces, Willow Hines and Everleigh Hines; his best friends, James Novak, Peyton Fontenot, Cy Diehl, and Ninja; several aunts and uncles, including Chenea (Shane) Carpenter and Briana Hines; and his dog, Chubb.
Visitation will be held Saturday (May 28, 2022) from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Byesville.
