James E. McCoy, 81, of Quaker City, died Friday (April 22, 2022) at his home.
He was born March 5, 1941 in Sylacauga AL, son of the late William McCoy and Audrey (Gardner) McCoy.
He was a machine operator/machinist for B&C and Lancer Distributors for many years.
Mr. McCoy was a U.S. Army veteran.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Shirley Price and Alice Culberson; two sons, James and Donald Devereux; and two daughters, baby girl McCoy and Roberta Miller.
He is survived by his wife, Mary C. (Blondheim) McCoy, whom he married June 19, 1971; two sons, Kenneth (Thericia) Devereux and P.J. Devereux; two daughters, Mary Devereux and Ramona (Robert) Schoolcraft; three brothers, Floyd & Edie McCoy, Harold McCoy, and Harvey McCoy; two sisters, Margaret McCoy Samples and Faye Duke Wilson; twenty grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces & nephews.
Visitation will be held Saturday (April 30, 2022) from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Byesville, with military honors conducted by the Guernsey County Veterans Council.
