Obituary

James “Jim” D. Rogers, 82, of Kimbolton, died Thursday (May 5, 2022) at the Morrison House, Zanesville.

He was born September 16, 1939 in New Concord, son of the late Walter Carr Rogers and Margaret June (Dowler) Rogers.

Mr. Rogers retired from Valley Mining. 

He loved fishing, hunting, and going to bluegrass festivals.  He especially loved traveling across the country and camping with Arletha.

Mr. Rogers was a U.S. Navy veteran.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Gary.

He is survived by his companion of eighteen years, Arletha Hayes; a son, David (Lea) Rogers of Dresden; two daughters, Diana Holland of North Canton and Tina Glass; a sister, Nancy McConnell of Quaker City; six grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

No calling hours will be observed.

Graveside services & burial will be held Monday (May 9, 2022) at 11 a.m. at Guernsey Memory Gardens, Cambridge.  Military graveside honors will be conducted by the Guernsey County Veterans Council.
