Jimmy P Olden

James “Jimmy” P. Olden age 33 of Byesville, passed away on Saturday February 26, 2022 @ OSU hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 15, 1988 in Cambridge a son to Jim and Dee (West) Olden Jr.

Jimmy was a 2007 graduate of Buckeye Trail high school, and later graduated from Belmont Technical College with an Associate degree in welding in 2010. He was currently employed with Centria, and had previously worked at Detroit Diesel, Jimmy attended the Kennonsburg United Methodist Church, and was a member of the UAW #1425, and Ducks Unlimited.

Jimmy was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially with his children Lainey and Easton, he was a family man above all else.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandmother Karen Olden, and his faithful hunting dog Drake.

Survivors include his wife Erika (Bates) Olden whom he married on October 8, 2011, his children Lainey and Easton, his parents Jim and Dee Olden Jr. of Cambridge, a sister Tabitha (Dave) Laishley of Byesville, grandparents Rodney (Patty) West of Barnesville, and Jim Olden Sr. of Old Washington, in laws Troy (Annie) Bates of Cumberland, two sisters in law Abby (Joe) Roberts and Kendra Bates both of Cumberland, six nieces and nephews Leesa, Marshall, Kansas, Caiden, Cale, and Camryn and his dog Coy.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday March 2, 2022 from 2:00 to 7:00pm at the Stop 9 Church of Christ in Byesville, with funeral services scheduled for Thursday March 3, 2022 at 11:00am also from the church. Burial will follow in Northwood Cemetery with Rev. Rodney West and Pastor Jeff Eschbaugh officiating.
