Joseph Williams Obituary

Joseph Isaiah Williams, 54, of Byesville, passed away Monday (January 25, 2021) at the James Cancer Center.

He was born July 10, 1966 in Cambridge and was the son of John (Ann) Williams of Delaware and Karen (Daugherty) Mosher of Thornville.

Joe was the owner and operator of Galaxy Pizza that was established in 1994.  He was a 1984 graduate of Millersport High School and a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church.

He was a great supporter of local high school sports, especially the Meadowbrook Colts and Cambridge Bobcats, he could often be found sitting in the stands cheering on the home team.  One of his greatest joys was the local Secret Santa Program;  Joe always took care of those in need, especially children.  He really enjoyed camping at Seneca Lake, a long slow ride on his Harley-Davidson, or being in the woods deer hunting.  He was a diehard Browns fan, and a member of the local Browns Backers Club, he tried to attend as many games as possible.

Joe will be remembered by his family and friends as the guy who got things done, he was never too busy to help someone, and he will be missed by all those who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Isaiah and Edna Williams and Charles R. and Idalene Daugherty; one uncle Jim Williams.

In addition to his parents he is survived by his wife Karla (Povlinko) Williams whom he married July 29, 2007; three sons, Jonathan and Jared Williams both of Delaware, Ohio and Jeg Huff of the home; one sister Jackie (Darrell) Harding of Circleville; one half sister Andrea Morris of Thornville; in-laws Bill and Judy Povlinko of Cambridge; brother–in-law Bill Povlinko Jr. of Byesville; close friends, Dustin Basham, Buddy & Laura McCormick, Steve & Sis Daubenspeck and Jay & Debbie Valentine.

Visitation will be Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Byesville. Private services will be held with Pastor Debbie Gheen officiating, and burial in Greenwood Cemetery.
