Kathryn Louise (McElroy) Truman, 62, of Cambridge passed away Wednesday (September 19, 2018) at her home surrounded by her family, after a battle with cancer.
She was born July 26, 1956 in Warren, Ohio and was the daughter of Delores (Richard) Stevens of Cambridge and Eugene (Ethel) McElroy of Byesville.
Kathy was a waitress for several years and was a childcare provider. She loved to cook and was the owner of Kathy’s Cooking and Catering. She loved her family and was always willing to help anyone; she was always laughing and having fun.
Kathy was preceded in death by her infant son Eugene Michael Gatrell in 1985.
In addition to her parents and step-parents she is survived by her husband of twenty six years Randy Truman of Cambridge; four sons, John (Misty) Powell of Cambridge, Terry Wayne Gatrell of Byesville, Gregg Truman and Kent Truman of Cambridge; three daughters, Julie (Tom) Huggins of Cambridge, Ashley Truman of Cambridge and Candice (Frank) Cable of Marion; thirteen grandchildren; four brothers, Chuck Robbins of Cambridge, Jeff (Karen) Riggans of Byesville, Rusty (Terry) Stevens of Orange Park, FL, and Scott (April) McElroy of Cambridge; two sisters, Kathy Robbins of Baltimore and Marcy (Don) McIntyre of Cumberland; one sister in-law, Kitty (Steve) O’Conner; several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service celebrating Kathy’s life will be held at a later date.
