Lanny Ross Dettra, 75, of Chaseville, died Thursday (May 26, 2022) at Genesis Hospital, Zanesville.
He was born June 29, 1946 in Noble County, son of Edwin M. Dettra and Earline (Barnett) Dettra.
Lanny was co-owner of Meadowbrook Tire and Muffler in Byesville with his brother, Jerry, for thirty-five years.
He was a graduate of Byesville High School.
Lanny was a US Army veteran, having served during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Buffalo VFW.
He enjoyed gardening and horses. He was a member of the American Quarter Horse Association.
He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Jerry and Scott Dettra.
He is survived by his wife, Susan L. (Donell) Dettra, whom he married September 24, 1982; a son, Ty (Tia) Dettra of Byesville; a daughter, Kaity (Tyler) Hardesty of Cambridge; a brother, Dennis Dettra of Chaseville; two sisters-in-law, Peggy Jo Dettra and Lisa Dettra; four grandchildren, Niko Dettra, Ruby Dettra, Slade Hardesty, and Dash Hardesty; and several nieces & nephews.
Memorial visitation hours will be held Tuesday (May 31, 2022) from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Byesville, with military honors conducted by the Guernsey County Veterans Council beginning at 6 p.m.
