Loretta Jane (Sichina) Stahovec, 95, of Lore City passed away Saturday (September 12, 2020) at Country View Assisted living.
She was born February 13, 1925 in Blacktop and was the daughter of the late William and Catherine (Tomsho) Sichina.
Loretta retired from NCR, and had worked as a welder at Timken during WWII. She was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church where she was also a member of the Catholic Women’s Club, Kipling VFW #7371 Aux. and Cambridge VFW #2901 Aux. She was a 1943 graduate of Lore City High School. Loretta was an avid bowler in several local leagues, and traveled to numerous national bowling tournaments.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Louis J. Stahovec whom she married July 2, 1949 and passed away April 14, 1991; two sisters, Matilda Bay and infant sister Norma Jean Sichina.
She is survived by four sons, Louis Stahovec of New Concord, David ( Jan) Stahovec, Brian (Kerry) Stahovec, and John (LuAnn) Stahovec, all of Lore City; one brother Bill Sichina of Lore City; one sister Mary Jamiel of Cambridge; brother-in-law Gene Bay of Lore City; six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Mass of Christian burial to follow at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Paul Hrezo officiating. Burial will follow in St. Peter and Paul Cemetery.
