Louetta Hitchens Obituary

Louetta M Hitchens, 92, of Pleasant City, passed away Sunday, March 27, 2022 at Country View Assisted Living. She was born September 30, 1929, in Derwent, OH, the daughter of the late Leroy Sprout and Ruth (Wells) Sprout.

Louetta was a 1947 graduate of Pleasant City High School and was a member of the East Cambridge Church of Christ. She loved watching all kinds of sports and was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes fan. Louetta especially liked watching the Game Show Channel, Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Hitchens, whom she married March 4, 1950, and one infant grandson Bruce.

She is survived by two daughters Becky (Larry) Love and Trudy (Tony) Yurina, both of Senecaville, and one son, David Hitchens, of Pleasant City; six grandchildren, James Love of Byesville, Jarrod (Cassie) Love of Marietta, Julie Snider of Melbourne FL, Justin (Tanya) Hitchens of Pleasant City, Stacy Yurina Gibson of Senecaville, and Mark (Kelly) Yurina of Barnesville; ten great grandchildren, Ashtyn Love, Samantha Love, Kendyl Love, Aaron Rood, Kylee Snider, Easton Hitchens, Laney Hitchens, Rylee Hitchens, Adeline Yurina and Claire Yurina. One brother, Robert (Patsy) Sprout of Marietta, and three nieces.

Services will be held Wednesday, March 30,2022 at 11:00 am at Black-Epperson Funeral Home in Byesville, with James Love and Michael Vierheller officiating. Burial to follow in Buffalo Cemetery.
