Marlene M. (Stranathan) Khune, 71, of Pleasant City, passed away Monday (February 22, 2021) at Cambridge Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born February 3, 1950 in Cambridge and was the daughter of the late William and Doris (Withington) Stranathan.
Marlene retired from Red Carpet Health Care Center after several years of service. She also was formerly employed at Hamilton Beach and was a well known Avon representative for many years. She enjoyed crocheting, puzzles and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a 1968 graduate of Meadowbrook High School.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her Father and Mother in-law, Madison and Marjorie Khune; one niece, Diana Stranathan.
She is survived by her husband, Larry Khune whom she married May 26, 1972; four sons, Craig (Laura) Bates of Senecaville, Matthew (Tonya) Bates of Chesapeake, VA, Chad (Connie) Khune of Cambridge and Joshua (Charlotte) Khune of Pleasant City; one brother, Michael (Dorothy) Stranathan of Pleasant City; one sister, Malinda Stranathan Hogg of Lexington, SC; grandchildren, Shane Bates, Christopher (Robyn) Bates, Corey (Ashley) Bates, Bailey Khune, Landon Khune, Carter Khune, Lyndsay Bates, Myles Bates and Cody Bates; great grandchildren, Quinton , Xander, Alia and Myles Bates; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Byesville where services will follow with Evan Greathouse officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant City Cemetery.
