Maurice Coulter Obituary

Maurice Lee Coulter, 90, of Byesville, passed away Thursday (November 5, 2020) following a short illness.

 He was born June12, 1930 in Buffalo and was the son of the late Calvin and Myrtle (James) Coulter.

 Maurice was an Electrician by trade and finished his career doing maintenance for a large nursing home until he retired.  He helped many friends over the years, as he could fix anything, and was always eager to teach others his repair skills.  He enjoyed socializing with friends and spending time with his family.  He was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes and Cleveland Browns fan.  Maurice was a proud U.S. Army veteran having served in the Korean War. He was a member of Main Ave. United Methodist Church and a 1948 graduate of Byesville High School.

 In addition to his parents Maurice was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Olive A. (Davis) Coulter whom he married September 15, 1951 and passed away June 15, 2014; three sisters, Florence Coulter, Mary Williams, and Gertrude Troyan; two brothers, Stanley and Buck Coulter; and special sister-in-law Aldine Coulter

 He is survived by two sons, Tim (Cheryl) Coulter of Pleasant City and David (Pamela) Coulter of Springfield; one daughter Kimberley (Joseph) Mulvey of MA; seven grandchildren, Mandy Toomey, Joseph Mulvey II, Trevor Mulvey, Kelli (Mike) Haney, Zachary (Jennifer) Coulter, Brantley and Emerson Coulter; five great grandchildren, Alexandra Roy, Sadie Crowell, Tucker Mulvey , Julia Mulvey, and Grant Haney; one great great granddaughter, Nevaeh Crowell; brother and sister in law, Jerry (Sandy) Davis; many beloved nieces, nephews, and special friends including, Bill Yontz and family, and Carolyn McClellend.

 Visitation will be Tuesday from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Main Ave. United Methodist Church where services will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Nancy Parsons officiating.  Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Guernsey County Veterans Council.
