Patricia Joan (Finnegan) Schafer, 92, of Pleasant City passed away Monday (May 17, 2021) at Altercare of Cambridge.
She was born December 31, 1928 in Pleasant City daughter of the late Thomas A. and Maude C. (Hively) Finnegan.
Pat retired from Champion Spark Plug after several years of service. She attended Pleasant City High School, was a member of Pleasant City United Methodist Church and Phi Chapter, Alpha Pi Sigma Sorority. She was an avid Bridge player and extensively traveled the world.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Max Schafer whom she married November 11, 1947 and passed away October 23, 2002; a brother Tom Finnegan; a sister Mona (Finnegan) Eddy.
She is survived by two sons, Terry Schafer of Pleasant City; Greg (Julie) Schafer of Pleasant City; one daughter Mary Jo “Jo” (Vickie Campbell) Schafer of Pleasant City; three grandsons, Max, Briggs and Keet Schafer; 4 step-granddaughters, Alyssa (Trevor) Markley, Alexis, Amy and Avery Poland; step great grandchildren, Beckham, Ryan and Indie Markley.
Visitation will be Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Byesville where services will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Randy Mercer officiating. Alpha Pi Sigma services will be at 12:30 p.m. Burial will follow in Pleasant City Cemetery.
