Paul B. McCollum, 71, of Byesville passed away Tuesday (September 29, 2020) at Riverside Methodist Hospital, following a lengthy illness.
He was born October 28, 1948 in Cambridge and was the son of Helen (Cox) McCollum of Byesville and the late Paul McCollum.
Paul retired from Cambridge Tool & Die after 33 years of service. He was a member of the Byesville Masonic Lodge #654, Byesville VFW #3760, Eagles Aerie #386, and volunteered for the Byesville Volunteer Fire Dept. and EMT for many years. He was a 1967 graduate of Meadowbrook High School. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, watching TV, and tinkering with old cars. He was an Army veteran.
In addition to his mother Paul is survived by his wife of 43 years, Mary Ann (Stats) McCollum whom he married March 25, 1977: one brother Guy (Melinda) McCollum of Byesville; one sister Patricia (Steve) Olmstead of TN; several nieces, nephews and many friends.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Guernsey Memory Gardens with Sturman Moore officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the Guernsey County Veterans Council.
