Obituary
Phillip Eugene Kidwell, 67, passed away peacefully in his home on Sunday (June 25, 2023) after a brief illness.
Gene was raised by John Fitzgerald and Betty Illene Kidwell, whom he adored, in Hilliard with his brothers John and Richard, and his sisters Mary and Ruth. He worked as a truck driver for the majority of his life and was always good for an inappropriate joke to make anyone laugh. Even though he was born in Ohio, he loved Texas, where he spent a large chunk of his life working on vehicles and fishing with his kids. Gene would go out of his way to help anyone who asked.
He will be greatly missed by his longtime partner and fiancée, Tamara Gard; his three children, Aaron (Summer) Kidwell, Thomas (Kristin) Kidwell, Michelle (Matt) Colvin; and all of his grandchildren whom he cherished. Gene spent the majority of his free time with Mary Smith, his half-sister, and her husband John, as well as the Schwartz family, who considered him one of their own. His many siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles will always remember his ornery personality.
No calling hours will be observed. No funeral services will be held at this time.
